Chemical Peel
New Jersey MediSpa Services – Chemical Peels & Skin Enhancement Procedures
What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical
Peels have been used for decades to revitalize and resurface
skin. They involve applying a chemical solution to remove
the damaged outer layers of skin and reveal a younger, clearer,
more radiant complexion. Chemical Peels are commonly performed
on the face, chest and hands.
Skin Problems Treated by Chemical Peel:
Dr. Rapaport's Chemical Peel series offers a highly effective method to treat a variety of skin problems, including:
Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes
Uneven skin tone and texture
Dull, flat, "tired-looking" skin
Brown spots and age spots
Discoloration from acne
Sun damage and premature aging
Melasma
Why do a chemical peel series instead of one deeper peel?
Recent
discoveries have shown that when a series of peels are performed
within a short time interval, the effect is greater than
any one procedure. Dr. Rapaport has developed a series of
medium peels that duplicate the results of a deeper procedure
without the long and inconvenient recovery time.
What are the chemical peel treatments like?
Every person will respond a little differently to the peel series:
In most cases, the procedure takes approximately 20 minutes.
A minimal amount of redness and tingling develops, which ends prior to leaving the office.
Within 2 to 5 days, a light peeling is faintly visible and lasts about 5 days.
Special moisturizers and medications are given with written instruction to help the skin exfoliate in a safe and healthy manner.
The peels are administered three times at two week intervals for maximum results.
